The Welcome Dinner Project

Highpoint has long celebrated its diverse local fabric but 2016 marked a significant milestone. Highpoint established a meaningful partnership with The Welcome Dinner Project, (TWDP) an organisation dedicated to fostering connection between newly arrived and established Australians. The partnership’s launch activity was ‘Welcome to the West’: the largest community ‘welcome dinner’ in Victoria and the first in Melbourne’s West, aimed at supporting an organisation bettering Australia in a way that affects Highpoint’s community. 


 





The resulting partnership has so far seen Highpoint host 2 dinners in-centre and support four home dinners in Melbourne’s West in the first year, helping TWDP expand its important operations in Melbourne and particularly the western region, and introducing hundreds of new friendships through a shared love of food and converstaion.
