The Trend Journal

From the luxe leather to extreme fringing and printed statement pieces, we've broken down everything you need to know about key trends for autumn/ winter 2021.

This season was like no other - virtual runways from overseas, no audiences, and sneak peeks of covid-friendly backstage antics. Nevertheless there was a sense of hope and joy - celebrating the art of getting dressed each morning and feeling your best.

Luckily, we're able to go out into the world and explore fashion again - feel the soft buttery leather courtesy of a FURLA bag, or experience the vibrance of tonal dressing from ZARA in real life. We're inviting you to rediscover fashion… see you at Highpoint!

Structured Suiting

From the oversized blazer to the tailored trouser, a good suit will take you from work to weekend and beyond with failsafe ease. Get creative with pantsuits in seasonal brights, or pair back with sneakers and a tee for a more casual look.

70's Style
One of fashions most emulated decades, and for good reason. This season, palettes are ultra saturated with conscious tailoring and new fabrics for old favourites.

Where we've seen it: Miu Miu, Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Realisation Par

Check Mate
The check print is winters untouchable classic; invest cleverly and the pieces you select will last beyond the season. This season we've seen the check come back in a vast and varied way. Fashion forward and functional - you can't go wrong.

Layers of Tone
There's something moreish about a tonal look. Endlessly alluring and packing a serious punch, the full monochromatic look ranges from Crayola-bright's to a more subdued pastel and neutral. They key to getting this right is keeping it pared back; fresh makeup, clever accessories, and natural hair.

Luxe Leather
A 1990's revival? We're here for it. Leather has returned in a mix of hues; classic black (of course!), but also rich chocolates, khaki, creams, and sand making it easier to invest in pieces that will slot straight into your current wardrobe. We've seen the reinterpretation of everyday classic silhouettes into decadent butter soft leather pieces worth showing off.

Extreme Fringing
The humble fringe is back in a big way, and not just on the back of cowboy jackets. Creeping back into the conversation in 2020 Milan Fashion week, we've seen revival 101 come through in 2021 runway's. Noted in Vogue as the 'polar opposite' of loungewear, we're here for this trend, and we hope it sticks around.
