Father's Day shopping inspiration

Shopping for gifts can be hard, even for the best gift givers!

Each year when Father’s Day rolls around, I find myself often challenged with knowing
where to start when hunting for the perfect gift. After all these years, I’ve come to realise
that there is no such thing as the perfect present, regardless of the occasion. What I’ve
learnt however, is that it’s about the experience and investment of effort in finding a token
of celebration, no matter the scale, for one another.

I’ve been searching high and low all throughout Highpoint this week, to share some insight
into different ideas and retailers who can help assist you in finding joyful gifts to help
applaud the important dads, brothers, grandpa’s, guardians and all other special role
models in your life who you may wish to celebrate this Father’s Day!

When I think of my own dad, who tells me he has everything he already needs, I begin to
consider gift ideas that he would not necessarily consider treating himself too. I always find
the treatments from Endota Spa a really special gift idea. Who doesn’t love taking some
time out for themselves to relax and recharge? If you think a facial or massage isn’t quite
right, perhaps some skincare and body products from The Body Shop are a great place to
start? I personally love creating little hamper boxes so you can curate the product selection
yourself! One last suggestion here would be to check out Mecca for their incredible range of
parfums. My dad is hooked on Maison Margiela ‘By The Fireplace’ EDT. Mecca have a lot of
woody and spicy scents, so purchasing a masculine inspired fragrance is really easy!

If your dad loves his threads, then shopping for apparel always makes for a thoughtful gift.
It’s an exciting time to shop at Highpoint right now as a lot of the spring summer collections
are starting to drop in most stores. Country Road, M.J. Bale and French Connection are
always my first destinations as the product offering in menswear is considered with
beautiful fabrications, easy to wear styles and colour palettes easy to incorporate into your
dads existing wardrobe. Don’t fret if you are finding this too much of a challenge - scale back
and opt for accessories instead as they’ll never let you down. A simple belt from David Jones
or some Rayban’s from Sunglass Hut would be my suggestions for your next starting point.

If fashion and skincare isn’t up your dads alley, some other great gift ideas that might help
inspire are those that are harder to gift wrap; experiences! Treating your dad to a movie at
Hoyts, or a stack of chocolate pancakes from Pancake Parlour could make for a special night
out!
