Harmony Week at Highpoint

It is with great excitement that we welcome Harmony Week into Highpoint this week, running from Monday 20th March through till Sunday 26th March.

I have been fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of working with Highpoint for the last decade and if there is one thing that comes to mind whenever I think of Highpoint, it would be the legacy the centre has with working with their local communities to celebrate their multiculturalism and diversity. From food to fashion and beyond, Highpoint has something for everyone and I truly love how this feels represented by the expansive retailer offering throughout the centre!

If you haven’t heard of Harmony Week before, it’s a week that celebrates multiculturalism and the successful integration of migrants into our communities. During Harmony Week, we celebrate the inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of our cultural or linguistic backgrounds.

If you’ve caught a glimpse of the newly updated mannequin and accessory boxes found throughout the centre, you might be wondering why everything is in hues of Orange!? Harmony Week is often represented by orange due to the history behind the vibrant colour. Traditionally, orange has been linked to meaningful conversations, social connection through communication and the freedom of ideas.

I strongly encourage you to support Harmony Week, in partnership with Highpoint, by wearing something orange one day this week. This could be a simple jumper, a pair of sneakers, a statement earring or even a lipstick shade. To help inspire you, I browsed all the fashion and accessory stores last week to talk you through some orange possibilities.

When it comes to colour, don’t be afraid to consider other hues. If the classic orange isn’t working for you, try rust, burnt orange, coral, flame, tangerine, vermilion, persimmon, honey or bronze. It really is endless!

If you’re wanting to wear orange apparel, be sure to drop into Country Road and Sheike for their range of dresses and blouses. If you want to keep it more subtle, Superdry have you covered with great orange t-shirts that could easily be layered under a bomber jacket or overshirt, especially now that the weather is cooling down.

If you are thinking a bag or shoe might be the way to go, then make a stop by Bellini who have just dropped their AW boots. They have the most amazing pair of orange croc boots that would make a true statement. For a more athletic look, Skechers have gone neon orange with their newest trainer.

Whatever you choose, I trust the hunt for all things orange at Highpoint will be just as enjoyable as it was for me.

Happy Harmony Week!
