Get race day ready with these 5 style tips from Victoria Latu

The 2022 race day is set to come back with a bang, and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s the time of year when you can dress top to toe in the latest trends and really experiment with your fashion flair.

Whether you want to look fabulous at the track or are hosting at home and fancy being best dressed, Highpoint has got you covered. We teamed up with Melbourne’s top stylist, Victoria Latu, to find out her top tips on how to be race day ready.

Victoria Latu’s style tips for a race day outfit to remember.

“There’s nothing I love more than spring style, so here are my top style tips to be race day ready. After all, it’s the race that stops the nation, so you’re going to want your outfit to do the same!

Comfort is cool
It’s important to remember that on race day, you’ll be spending a lot of time on your feet. So, a winning tip that I always stick to is prioritising both style and comfort. My go-to shops at Highpoint for stylish yet comfortable shoes are Steve Madden, Tony Bianco and Billini. You could try a pair of platform heels or stand out in a sleek and strappy sandal.

Wear it wide!
Who says spring racing is all about dresses? If you dare to be a little different, then try wide-leg pants. The ‘trousers of the moment’ are a super stylish way to create instant impact. I love Cue for all the latest styles and trends, and they’ve got an incredible selection of outfits in store, including wide-leg trousers.

Slay in statement sunnies
Key to any race day look is a good pair of sunglasses. And this season, the key to perfecting your trackside look is picking the right silhouette to frame your face. Try a pair of cat eye sunnies in a neutral shade, as they suit all face shapes and will elevate any outfit.

Colour blocking is back
My absolute favourite way to create maximum impact on race day is to try colour-blocking. Yellow is a great spring colour that’s fresh and vibrant, and a must-have this season. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different tones of the same colour, too.

Think pink!
It’s no secret that I love a pop of colour, and my favourite just happens to be one of the key colours of this season – hot pink! So, if you’re wondering how to wow, my tip is to think pink. My go-to for bold yet feminine designs are SHEIKE, and I just adore this hot pink, ruffled dress. It’s soft yet sharp and will really stand out on the field.”
